Advanced Obedience - $200
Tuesday April 14th | 6:00 pm — 7:00 pm | Course Length: 6 wks | Instructor: Kailee Pothier
Take your training to the next level.
Building on the foundation established in Beginner Obedience, this course strengthens reliability, responsiveness, and the working partnership between dog and handler. Through structured exercises, relationship-building drills, and engaging training games, teams will develop the skills necessary for real-world success.
Advanced Obedience focuses on off-leash reliability, advanced impulse control, and maintaining obedience around high levels of distraction. Our goal is to create a well-mannered, confident dog that can comfortably accompany you to patio dining, hiking trails, farmers markets, and other public settings.
Special emphasis is placed on:
Natural, attentive heeling at the handler’s side
Distance stays with handler distractions
Reliable recalls past environmental distractions
Polite public manners and neutrality
Following the Community Canine guidelines set by the American Kennel Club, teams will train through the 10-step CGCA test items. At the conclusion of class, dogs will have the opportunity to be evaluated and earn their Community Canine (CGCA) title.
This class is designed for owners who are ready to challenge themselves, build greater freedom for their dog, and create lasting reliability in everyday life.
Dogs must have completed Beginner Obedience or CGC Board & Train or must be able to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test
Dogs must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo Combo, and Bordetella vaccines
