Beginner Obedience lays the foundation for a well-mannered, responsive companion. Through clear communication, consistency, and positive structure, you’ll learn how to guide your dog into becoming a polite member of your household and community. Dogs with a solid obedience foundation are easier to live with, more confident in new environments, and more enjoyable to take along on everyday adventures.

Over the course of 6 weeks, teams will learn and practice the 10 skills outlined in the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program through the American Kennel Club. These skills focus on real-life manners at home and in public settings. On graduation day, dogs will have the opportunity to take the CGC test and earn their official title—recognizing their achievement as a well-mannered member of the community.

This class is ideal for dogs 6 months of age and older who are ready to begin their obedience journey and build lasting habits that set the stage for future advanced training.

For: Dogs 6+ months or graduates of our STAR Puppy class

Dogs must be up-to-date on Rabies, Bordatella, and Distemper/Parvo

No Human or Dog Aggressive dogs

Please bring training treats, a collar and leash (4 or 6 ft) and your proof of vaccines on the first night of class.
