Intro to Rat Hunt - $200

Rat Hunt is an exciting sport that taps into your dog’s natural hunting instincts in a safe, controlled environment. Designed to channel a dog’s love of scent work, climbing, and problem-solving, this activity is both thrilling and mentally enriching for dogs—and incredibly fun for handlers to watch!

During class, dogs will search for a safely contained rat hidden within a course of boxes and tunnels. Rats are securely protected in aerated tubes, allowing dogs to rely on their powerful sense of smell while ensuring the safety and well-being of all animals involved.

This 4-week introductory course teaches foundational Rat Hunt skills, including navigating tunnels, climbing obstacles, building hunt drive, and clearly ALERTING to the rat’s location. Handlers will learn how to read their dog’s body language, build confidence, and support their dog’s natural abilities as a hunting partner.

Whether your dog is bold and driven or just discovering their inner hunter, this class builds focus, teamwork, and confidence in a fun and engaging way.

Dogs must have completed Beginner Obedience or CGC Board & Train or must be able to pass the Canine Good Citizen Test

Dogs must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo Combo, and Bordetella vaccines

No Human or Dog Aggressive dogs allowed   

Please bring your dogs favorite treats or toy, a collar and leash (4 or 6ft) and your proof of vaccination to the first night of class
