Therapy Dog Class - $200

Friday April 11th | 6:00 pm — 7:00 pm | Course Length: 6 wks | Instructor: Brittany Triner

Therapy Dogs must have a true love of people and enjoy meeting new strangers. Aside from a dog that enjoys human companionship a therapy dog must be well-behaved and know all obedience commands. We require the Therapy Dog Teams to take and pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen, and AKC Urban Canine Testing and be a year old before certifying with our local Therapy Dog Group. After passing the AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen potential therapy teams must complete 3 supervised visits with a senior member of Pets Helping People Therapy Team. At completion of their third successful visit the team will receive: dog’s therapy vest, owners shirt patch, member guide and a copy of the CIMA Insurance.

Dogs must have completed a beginner course and advanced obedience course or obtained their CGC & CGCA Certificates

Dogs must be up to date on Rabies, Combo, and Bordetella vaccines

No Human or Dog Aggressive dogs allowed   

Please bring your dogs favorite treats or toy, a collar and leash (4 or 6ft) and your proof of vaccination to the first night of class
