Therapy Dog Class - $200

Therapy dogs possess a genuine love of people and truly enjoy meeting new friends. Beyond a friendly temperament, they must also demonstrate excellent manners, reliability, and advanced obedience skills in a variety of real-world environments.
This comprehensive 6-week course prepares teams to successfully pass the AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen (CGCU) test through the American Kennel Club and equips handlers with the skills needed to confidently participate in Pet Assisted Therapy visits. We focus on advanced obedience, neutrality around distractions, handler confidence, and the professionalism required for therapy work.
Upon successful completion, teams will be invited to join our local Pets Helping People Therapy Team and enjoy the benefits of certifying with a respected local therapy dog organization—opening the door to meaningful volunteer opportunities in our community.
Dogs must have completed Beginner & Advanced Obedience or completed Town & Country Board & Train or be able to pass the Community Canine Test &
Dogs must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo Combo, and Bordetella vaccines
No Human or Dog Aggressive dogs allowed
Please bring your dogs favorite treats or toy, a collar and leash (4 or 6ft) and your proof of vaccination to the first night of class
